If your OSHC cover lapses or is cancelled, you will no longer be complying with your visa conditions and your visa can be cancelled. If you have an accident or need any medical treatment while you don’t have health cover, you will have to pay the full cost of that treatment yourself.

There are two “streams” for the Temporary Graduate Subclass 485 visa. Post Study Work Stream for international students who completed higher education degree from an Australian education provider, regardless of their field of study.

The Graduate Work Stream is for international students with an eligible qualification who graduate with skills and qualifications that relate to an occupation on the list of eligible skilled occupations. A visa in this stream is granted for 18 months from the date of grant.

485 visas granted under the Graduate Work Stream are valid for 18 months from the date of grant.

Post Study Work Stream (PSWV) visas can be valid for between 2 and 4 years from the date of grant, depending on the type of qualification completed. Validity periods are as follows:

2 years: completion of bachelor’s degree, Bachelor with Honours, Masters by Coursework or Masters (Extended)

3 years: Masters by Research

4 years: Doctorate

you can apply for another onshore visitor visa if you do not have conditions preventing from applying such as ‘8503 – No further stay’ attached to your current visitor visa.
