Subclass 309 and 100

Offshore partner visa

  • As an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, you may apply for a temporary visa (Subclass 309) for your partner until the migrant permanent visa (Subclass 100) is decided for your partner.

Subclass 820 and 801

Onshore partner visa

  • This visa (sub class 820) lets the de facto partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia temporarily. Getting this visa is the first step towards a permanent Partner visa (subclass 801).

Subclass 103 or 804

Parent visa

  • A parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen is allowed to permanently move to Australia. You need to meet the eligibility criteria such as family balance test.

Subclass 101

Child visa

  • A child outside Australia is permitted to permanently move to Australia to live with their parents. This visa allows a child overseas to move to Australia to live with their parents.

Subclass 116 or 836

Carer visa

  • To be a carer for your Australian relative who needs care or a member of their family who lives with them and needs care and who has no reasonable access to care in Australia. you need to be sponsored by an eligible sponsor.
